Welcome to the Women's Leadership Project!
What is the Harvard Women's Leadership Project? The Women's Leadership Project (WLP) was founded in 1988 by Harvard Collegeundergraduates concerned about the scarcity of women leaders on campus. The purpose of WLP is to foster the effective leadership of a diverse group of undergraduate women. Through its flagship annual Women's Leadership Conference (WLC), WLP aims to impact individuals and organizations on campus. WLP is committed to participating in the personal and professional development of women, providing opportunities and access to critical resources, strengthening the network of supportive and positive role models, and encouraging open discussion about the complex issues and difficult choices that many women face. What is the Harvard Women's Leadership Project Alumni Network? The Women's Leadership Project Alumni Network (WLPAN) represents over 700 Harvard alumni who participated in the Women's Leadership Conference. The Network's female and male members span two decades of experience, as well as multiple industries, disciplines and geographies. In 2003 six former WLC participants established WLPAN. They had observed that women leaders left Harvard with high confidence and ambition, but lacked support in the "real world" to fully develop as leaders. WLPAN seeks to help fill that void.
